How to Choose a Party Destination: Six Options Compared
A club strip, one club in town, beach clubs by day or a boat? Compare Malta, Zante, Mykonos, Tenerife, Punta Cana and Albania by vibe and season.

Three questions that do most of the work
Choosing between party destinations gets easier once you stop comparing everything at once. Three questions settle most trips: when can you travel, what kind of night do you want, and how far are you willing to fly? Answer them in that order and the shortlist builds itself.
Dates come first because the six destinations don't share one season. Zante, Mykonos and the Albanian Riviera are summer destinations; Malta and Tenerife keep going for most of the year; and Punta Cana's last season ran from late January to the end of April. Then comes the style of the night, which is where these places really differ.
The six destinations at a glance
Here's the short version of each, with the site that covers it in depth.
- Malta (maltapartyvibes.com): nightlife packed into Paceville in St Julian's, plus pool and beach clubs, rooftop parties and boat parties to Comino. A long season, strongest from late June to early September.
- Zante (zantepartyvibes.com): the Laganas strip, pool parties at Karma Beach Club, sunsets at El Paradiso, Italian concert nights at the Gatsby Theatre in Argassi and a boat party to Navagio. Roughly May to September, with the 2026 Party Vibes calendar running from early July to early September.
- Mykonos (mykonospartyvibes.com): one address, We Love Myk Club in Mykonos Town, with themed nights such as the Neon Party, Ladies Night, Love Night and The White Party. Roughly May to October.
- Tenerife (tenerifepartyvibes.com): Playa de las Américas and the Verónicas strip, with Papagayo, Monkey Beach Club and Mala Mía. Peak from late May to early October, and it never fully closes.
- Punta Cana (puntacana-partyvibes.com): beach clubs in Bávaro. Last season (late January to the end of April) it had a pool party at Pearl Beach Club, The White Party at Cielo Beach Club and a catamaran boat party.
- Albania (albaniapartyvibes.com): Sarandë and Ksamil on the Riviera, with White Parties on the sand, sunset pool parties and a boat party on the Ionian. Beach season roughly May to October.
If you want a strip you can walk
Three destinations keep the nightlife within walking distance. Malta's Paceville is a few compact streets holding most of the island's clubs, bars and late-night food, so you walk between venues; Sliema and the St Julian's seafront are calmer bases a short taxi away. Zante's Laganas strip is walkable and free to wander, with bars warming up before midnight and clubs like Sizzle keeping it busy into the early hours, while Argassi, home of Club Barrage and the Gatsby Theatre, is a short taxi away.
Tenerife's version is the Verónicas strip in Playa de las Américas, a pedestrianised run of clubs and bars parallel to Playa de Troya. Papagayo and Monkey Beach Club sit right on the sand, and Mala Mía, the reggaeton option with a mostly local crowd, sits away from the strip. Stay in Playa de las Américas to walk home, or in Costa Adeje or Los Cristianos, a short taxi ride away.
If you want one club, the beach or the sunset
Mykonos works the other way round: instead of a strip, one club. mykonospartyvibes.com focuses on We Love Myk Club, a whitewashed building on Florou Zouganeli street overlooking the old harbour of Mykonos Town, with themed nights through the week. Nothing starts early here. The days belong to southern beaches such as Paradise, Paraga and Elia, and the evening begins with the sunset in Little Venice.
Punta Cana is a beach-club destination rather than a club strip, and its headline events happen in daylight and early evening: last season the pool party and The White Party were evening sessions and the catamaran sailed by day. On the Albanian Riviera the rhythm is sunset first, club later: sunset pool parties, a White Party sunset edition and the Vikingen boat party, then late beach-club nights in Ksamil.
The practical differences that decide trips
Once the style fits, logistics usually make the final call. These are the differences the destination sites flag most often.
- Language: Malta has two official languages, Maltese and English, so getting around in English is easy.
- Getting there: Mykonos has its own airport, with seasonal direct flights from across Europe in summer, plus ferries from Piraeus and Rafina. Saranda is about 30 minutes from Corfu on the fast ferry. Punta Cana is the long-haul option.
- Getting around: in Malta, taxi apps run all night and some tickets for venues outside Paceville include a return coach. Mykonos has a small taxi fleet, so staying central in Chora helps. In Punta Cana and Albania, agree the taxi fare before you get in.
- Money: Albania uses the lek, and paying in lek works out cheaper than paying in euros. Its own budget guide makes the case that a night out there costs less than on the Greek islands.
- Age and ID: most nights in Malta are 17+ or 18+, and the boat parties in Albania and Punta Cana are strictly 18+. Carry physical ID everywhere.
Let each destination's website do the planning
Every destination has its own Party Vibes website, built for planning rather than just browsing. You'll find the events on sale with their venue pages, a view by date that shows what falls inside your stay, local guides on areas, clubs and getting around, and a list for next season's announcements so you hear when tickets drop.
Start broad on worldpartyvibes.com, which lists the parties on sale across all six destinations, then go deep on the site of the one you pick: maltapartyvibes.com, zantepartyvibes.com, mykonospartyvibes.com, tenerifepartyvibes.com, puntacana-partyvibes.com or albaniapartyvibes.com. Book flights and accommodation first, then add the nights as they're released.
